Fava Beans, also known as broad beans, have a distinctive flavor and creamy texture. A member of the pea family, fava beans are in season June-September. Look for firm, full green pods.

Storage: Keep unshelled in a plastic bag in the fridge for up to 10 days. Keep shelled fava beans in
a plastic bag in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Preparation: Shell the favas by opening the pods along the seams. The pods are edible, but most people prefer to just use the beans.
